The Love of Entertaining: Kappa Tablescapes Dallas

Recently, I was asked to participate in the Dallas Kappa Tablescape charity event. Given how much I love to entertain and the sheer pleasure I find in setting just the right table, I jumped at the opportunity.

I knew almost immediately that the theme for my table design would be based on blue and white Chinoiserie.

While many of the participants are professional event planners and florists, I knew I could not compete on such a grand scale floral level so I set out to design a table anyone could put together.  The starting point was these beautiful Raynaud salad plates that I purchased when I lived in London.

PLACE SETTING INFORMATION
Salad Plate: Raynaud, Si Kiang
Dinner Plate: Raynaud Marie Antoinette

The next most important piece of the puzzle would be what I would use for the centerpiece if I was not going to go the large floral route.  It made complete sense that it would be these fabulous ginger jars from my good friend, Jennifer, at THE PINK PAGODA.  I used the large version in the middle with very small versions around the table.

I filled the jar with paper Chinese umbrellas that I decorated with beautiful trim, silk butterflies, and hanging glass balls filled with tea lights. I tucked them into some bamboo sticks to hold them up in the jar and vary the heights.

My final touch was orchids in paper take out boxes…spruced up with some pretty grosgrain ribbon and a few more tiny butterflies.

This was a beautiful event with truly design inspirations coming from every single designer and table. I was grateful for the opportunity to be included.

Happy Monday!

  1. This table is beyond anything. It's just perfect in every way. So fresh and fun while still being lovely and pretty. It's just the right amount of everything, too. Not too minimal, and not too busy. Very well done, Tiffany. You're amazing!!!
